Introduction to Climate Modeling and Downscaling

CACS, IIT Madras, hosted a workshop on 22/03 with the Progyan Foundation for Research and Innovation (PFRI) team to explore CMIP6 data, statistical downscaling, and pseudo-global warming, equipping participants with essential climate analysis skills. Participants gained hands-on experience in CMIP6 data processing, downscaling, and PGW techniques during our collaborative workshop with PFRI. Specifically, we focused on translating complex climate model outputs into actionable regional insights. The sessions emphasized practical application, enabling attendees to apply these methodologies to their research. We also fostered a collaborative environment, encouraging knowledge exchange between participants and PFRI experts, leading to a deeper understanding of climate projection challenges and solutions.
